Mimicking nature for natural results

Biomimetics is the science of solving problems by mimicking nature.6 BELOTERO® takes a similar approach: by mimicking the skin’s natural structure, it helps deliver results that look, move and feel more like you.7,8

BIOMIMETIC SCIENCE

What does Biomimetic Matrix Technology mean for your skin?⁷

The beauty of our Biomimetic Matrix Technology

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a natural substance found in the skin and other tissues in the body. When it is used as a dermal filler, it needs to undergo a process called cross-linking – without this process it would dissolve within days.

Unlike other HA fillers that have just one phase of cross-linking,2 Belotero® uses two phases as part of a patented dynamic cross-linking process. This adds a second layer of HA, creating a unique 3-D structure that mimics the skin’s natural details.2,3 We call this Biomimetic Matrix Technology.

Standard cross-linking PROCESS

The individual hyaluronic acid strands are straightened, untangling the random coil structure.

Cross-linking the strands with a naturally occurring ether forms a clear hyaluronic acid gel.

As a result, more links form between the strands, creating a more natural structure.
